Landscape Architecture for me is such an expansive field. Disciplines such as urban planning, architectural design, material science, ecology and the fine arts intersect in a variegated palimpsest.

2025/26 RISD SUSTAINABILITY LAB
Currently, I have signed up for the “Sustainability Lab” at the Rhode Island School of Design which is an interdisciplinary studio investigating material properties of different subjects each year. This year we have been investigating plant and animal fibres, specifically cellulose-based fibres such as paper-pulp and protein-based fibres such as wool.
Examples of material explorations with paper making:

MATERIAL
Recycled Butcher paper pulp from RISD students (processed by RISD Loop Lab), Processed Bamboo Leaves
FABRICATION
Scavenged bamboo leaves cooked in Soda Ash. Fibres pounded by pestle on board. Formed with a mould and deckle-box.

Example of work from past semesters:
INFRASTRUCTURES OF CARE: Flooding Mitigation around the Río Piedras, PUERTO RICO

With the advent of anthropogenic climate change, sea level rise and rapid advancement of urban sprawl along existing flood planes, it is integral for students of the landscape to grapple with the urban-scale infrastructural challenges that cities face whilst creating dynamic and multi-use spaces for ecological and social function.
